About us
Monsoon Tours is a community of partners and devoted contributors to Cambodia’s development to a major tourist destination.
Cambodia offers far more than only the famous Angkor sites situated near the city of Siem Reap. Alas, nowadays the latter serve almost exclusively as short jaunt targets for travellers from the neighbouring countries. Cambodia, with its salutary climate, beautiful beaches and abundant reserves of natural and ancient architectural potential, has all essential prerequisites (all the necessary services inclusive) to offer its visitors interesting trips for a fortnight or longer, enchanting them by the beauty of its landscapes, by its impressive wild life and by the fascinating friendliness of its people.
Our academic qualification combined with profound knowledge of culture, language and history of Cambodia, our nearly 20 years of experience in tour planning and operating, our engagement for the development of Cambodia in different fields, including reduction of rural poverty and support of women and children, and eventually our love and dedication to this country with tragedy-stricken history – are unmatched in the Cambodian travel industry.
The Founder of Monsoon Tours
Frank Ludwig started working in Cambodia in 1993 with a joint venture company. Two years later, in July 1995, he founded Monsoon Tours – a travel company, which herewith belongs to the oldest ones in Cambodia.
Guests of Monsoon Tours come from many different countries of almost all continents.
Thanks to the good reputation of Monsoon Tours as an experienced, competent and efficient tour operator, not only travel agencies, but more and more individual travellers and groups started booking their tours directly, especially from German-speaking countries. Since 1999 Monsoon Tours together with Cambodian Craft Cooperation conducts tours to the main Cambodian sites of traditional crafts. In 2004 Monsoon Tours started organising ornithological tours (bird watching) in Cambodia. Frank Ludwig’s team pursues an important goal: to show the visitors far more than the great Angkor alone and to lead them to other highlights – to “hidden”, “silent” ones, thus contributing to the development of tourism in Cambodia.
Many years of co-operation and partnership with tour operators and travel agencies in countries, which are very close to Cambodia from geographical or cultural point of view, enable Monsoon Tours to offer tours to Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Bhutan.
